From signing up in August and working with Franchise Resales to prepare the documentation and advertising we had two prospects almost immediately with our eventual purchaser being introduced in March this year. Although I've owned my own business before I had never purchased a business. What was the process? Where should I start?
Eventually we found the business we were really interested in. Once we made the decision to go for a franchise our research led us to the Franchise Resales website. Franchise Resales were extremely helpful with offering advice on the general process, but without pushing in any way - leaving us to make an informed decision.
At all times Derrick was available to answer any of the seemingly stupid questions - reassuring us that they weren't stupid, that anyone purchasing a business tends to have the same questions. I cannot praise Gordon highly enough. Selling your business is very emotional and the most stressful thing I have ever done.
